Terms of Service

What you can expect from Lernio, and what we expect from you.

Drafted 16 August 2026 · not yet reviewed

Who you are contracting with

Lernio is operated by [legal entity name], registered at [registered address] under company number [company number]. In these terms “we”, “us” and “Lernio” mean that company, and “you” means the person using the service.

Using the assessment, the dashboard or the training programme means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

What the service is

Lernio provides a cognitive assessment and a training programme built from its result. The assessment returns an estimate of cognitive performance with a confidence range, together with a profile across five abilities. The training programme provides daily exercises weighted toward the abilities the assessment found weakest, and an AI trainer that adapts as your performance changes.

Lernio is not a clinical or diagnostic assessment and is not a medical device. It is not a substitute for an assessment administered by a qualified professional, and it must not be used for any educational, medical, employment or other decision that calls for one. The assessment disclaimer sets out what the score does and does not mean, and forms part of these terms.

Who may use it

You must be at least [minimum age] years old to use Lernio. The service is intended for personal use. You may not use one account on behalf of several people: the assessment measures whoever answered it, so a shared account produces a result that describes nobody.

Your account

You can start the assessment without an account. To receive your report and to use the training programme you give us an email address, and you sign in through a single-use link sent to it — there is no password to choose or to lose.

That makes access to your inbox the same thing as access to your account. Keep it secure, and tell us if you believe someone else has used your account. You can see and end your active sessions at any time from your profile.

Subscriptions, prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in your local currency before you pay, and the price shown at checkout is the price charged. We do not convert currencies at the time of payment.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — see the privacy policy.
  • A subscription renews automatically for further periods at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel it. We will tell you in advance if that price changes.
  • Where an offer includes a trial, the length of the trial and the date of the first charge are shown at checkout. Cancel before that date and you are not charged.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for; cancelling does not by itself produce a refund. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
  • If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend access until it succeeds. [grace period before access is suspended].
  • Prices are shown [inclusive or exclusive of VAT / sales tax — to be confirmed per market].

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, publish or resell the questions, the question bank, the games or the reports — published questions stop measuring anything, which is the one thing that would break the product for everybody;
  • use automated means to take the assessment, or to scrape any part of the service;
  • share, sell or transfer your account, or resell access to it;
  • attempt to interfere with the service or to access data that is not yours, including other people’s results;
  • present a Lernio result as a clinical, diagnostic or professional assessment.

Who owns what

The assessment, the question bank, the games, the scoring model, the report format and everything else that makes up the service remain ours. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use them while your account is active.

Your answers and your results are yours. We use them to produce your report, to run and adapt your training programme, and — in aggregated and de-identified form — to improve the assessment itself, for example to re-estimate how difficult a question is.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and we may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give notice [notice period and method — to be confirmed] before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Lernio at any time, cancel your subscription from your account, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that: [limitation of liability — to be drafted by counsel, including the cap and the excluded categories of loss]. Because Lernio is not a diagnostic instrument, we are not responsible for decisions taken on the basis of a score, and you agree not to use one where a professional assessment is required.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [governing jurisdiction], and the courts of [competent courts] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. [Consumer rights carve-out, and any required online dispute resolution notice, to be confirmed per market]. Nothing here affects the mandatory consumer rights of the country you live in.
